Where a signature is given by someone other than you or the parcel is left at your local post office, the order will be treated as having been delivered.

Free Paper Plane Template Download

24

Aug 2016

Team GB returned home on a golden-nosed 474 British Airways flight, renamed “victoRIOus”, so we thought it only apt to provide a free paper plane template so you too can create your own Olympic designed plane, to show off how you’d celebrate our athletes coming home in style!

Taken from our Paper Planes kit, this fun download will keep children entertained for hours – simply download the activity sheet for FREE via the link below and follow the step by step guide.Paper Plane

Once downloaded, encourage your children to get creative with stickers, felt tip pens, and even glitter to see if they can design a plane fit for an Olympian. Not only will they have fun making it, it’s fascinating to see how far it can fly.

Free Paper Plane Download

According to the Guinness World Records, 27.6 seconds is the record for keeping a paper plane in the air – set by Ken Blackburn on 8 October 1998 – this record has yet to be beaten.  Blackburn used the ‘glider’ to set the record and this ‘King of the Paper Plane World’ is naturally included in our paper plane kit.

So…we have decided to set our own challenge.  How far can you fly your paper plane?

If you or your child decides to take up the challenge, we’d love to see the end results – please upload your pictures or videos to our Facebook or Twitter page.

Chocks away!!

Six Benefits of Colouring

  1. Whether they stay in the lines or not, colouring nurtures creativity and stimulates children to brainstorm and to think of new ideas on their own naturally.
  2. Most Children love to colour, and as well as being a fun activity it helps their cognitive and psychological development.
  3. Improves fine motor skill development, the actions and motions involved aid the development of muscles in their fingers, hands and wrist helping them to write more skilfully as well as operate small objects.
  4. It is a great way for children to express themselves, and you can learn a lot about the way a child is feeling by the images that they draw and the colours they use!
  5. It can be very therapeutic. A child who wants to vent their day’s frustration may scribble outside the lines or colour their best picture ever, but whatever they do, it’s a great way to de-stress.
  6. Milestone, for many children colouring in the lines is just as important as counting to 10! It’s a milestone that says ‘Yes I can!’ –  providing them with a sense of self-worth.

These benefits reinforce the importance of colouring in, and we have a fantastic range of colouring books to keep them going (click here), featuring dot-to-dot images, Magic Painting Books (brush water across them to make colours appear), Magic Pictures (hidden pictures to rub with a coin and then colour in with crayons or felt pens), and much more! Something for everyone, to keep little hands and minds entertained.

Five Fun Baby Toys for Budding Sports Stars

29

Jun 2016

Now Wimbledon is in full swing, we thought we’d serve you some fun toys that can help your child’s hand-eye coordination, a key fundamental and critical to any sporting player’s success, if your little one is to be the next budding sports star of the future.

Pounding Apple – these naughty caterpillars won’t stay in the apple! Little ones can either push the caterpillars back in the apple with their hands, or pick up the apple hammer and give them a good whack. As you knock one colourful caterpillar down, another one pops up. Great for boosting hand-to-eye coordination skills, and youngsters will love the bright colours and fun shapes.

Pop-Up Toy – this traditional wooden toy with four colourful figures which bob up and down on concealed springs will amuse babies, whilst developing hand-eye coordination, spatial concepts like ‘up’ and ‘down’ as well as learning to recognise colours.

Baby Puzzles – traditional puzzles have always been a family favourite, but have many benefits. The ability to coordinate what the eyes see, with what the brain pictures and what the hands do, takes a lot of practice, and puzzles are a great way to develop this skill.

Frog-in-a-Box – we love our little froggie, it’s basically a soft fun version of the classic jack-in-a-box toy, with a difference – lift the lid and the frog jumps out. The game of peep-o can be repeated time and time again. The frog will squeak and rattle, and the lily pad lid has crinkle petals and different textures for little hand to explore. Parents will also like the fact the box and lid covers are removable and machine washable.

Junior Ball Run – is a fun ball run with 15 brightly coloured slot-together pieces and five assorted balls to delight and entertain young children. The balls are the perfect size for little hands to hold and feature a spinning mirror, smiley faces and rattle sounds. Children will enjoy exploring where to place each ball and learning how the balls travel down to the base of the run, perfect for encouraging hand-eye coordination whilst teaching the concept of cause and effect
